Involvement of female athletes after the age of 40 has exploded in distance events such as the half marathon and IronMan triathlon. This course will discuss several aspects of the master female including physiology, musculoskeletal concerns and training recommendations. The content of this course is directly related to the practice of physical therapy and athletic training and is therefore appropriate for the PT, PTA and AT.

Janice K. Loudon, PT, PhD, SCS, ATC, CSCS is a Professor at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO. She directs a running clinic at Rockhurst University campus and commonly works with the master female athlete. Dr. Loudon has a PhD in Movement Science from Washington University. She received board certification in sports physical therapy in 1991 from the APTABS (recertified 2001, 2011). Her research is focused on lower extremity pathomechanics and their relationship to athletic injury.
