Dr. Kristin Parlman graduated from Boston University with a MSPT in 1992. In 1998, she completed her transitional DPT through the MGH IHP and became a Board-Certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist. In 2006, Kristin was recognized as Clinician of the Year by the Academy of Neurology Physical Therapy. She has a long-time passion for practicing in the acute care setting, with her 30+ year career at Massachusetts General Hospital. Within this time, she has served on state and national Disaster Medical Assistance Teams and is currently a MGH Global Disaster Response Member. As a PT Clinical Specialist for the Neurology/Neurosurgery service, Kristin is responsible for mentoring staff and contributing to the improvement of clinical practice. She has remained dedicated to advancing neurologic physical therapy practice through initiatives such as co-founding the APTA of Massachusetts Neurologic Special Interest Group and assisting in the development and execution of the MGH Physical Therapy Neuro Residency Program. Kristin evaluates and treats patients with a wide variety of neurologic diagnoses with special interests in stroke, ALS, Functional Movement Disorders, and disorders of consciousness.
