- Participants will be able to identify at least two areas of risk for error in daily physical therapy practice.
- Participants will be able to define the scope of practice, specifically related to pharmacologic intervention, in a given physical therapy scenario.
- Participants will be able to list at least three tools to assist patients with medication compliance.
- Participants will be able to recommend at least two communication pathways for patient movement between delivery settings.
- Participants will be able to identify at least three benefits of patient handoffs in clinical practice.
- Participants will be able to identify at least three factors that determine a quality care initiative and practice management strategy plan using medical error information.

Brigette Cuffia

Brigette Cuffia is the Director of Regulatory Affairs for Corporate Compliance at Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health. She is an Adjunct Professor at Neumann University and teaches in the Physical Therapy Program, where she previously worked as a full time Associate Professor. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy and her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University and her Juris Doctorate Degree from Temple University. She is both a licensed PT in Pennsylvania as well as a licensed attorney admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar.
Brigette has taught live ethics and jurisprudence courses for licensed therapists since 2009.
Clinically, Brigette worked for Moss Rehab Hospital for over 15 years in a variety of roles. While at Moss as the neurology team lead she was integral in developing a CARF accredited spinal cord injury program, bariatric program and also reviving the sexuality and disability education committee. Brigette was awarded a grant to develop Moss Muscle Builders, a maintenance group for persons with disabilities, which is still active today.
