Learning Outcomes
- After this course, participants will be able to identify at least two prominent trends in falls among older adults in the U.S. per the latest epidemiological data.
- After this course, participants will be able to differentiate between modifiable and non-modifiable fall risk factors, employing critical thinking to categorize them as either intrinsic or extrinsic, thereby informing personalized intervention strategies to mitigate fall risk and enhance patient safety in daily activities.
- After this course, participants will be able to differentiate among four major clinical practice guidelines for fall risk screening and list at least three components of each guideline.
- After this course, participants will be able to identify at least four elements of a comprehensive assessment that are appropriate to use when fall risk screening is positive, which will support performance in daily activities.
- After this course, participants will be able to identify and apply at least three fall risk functional measures for specific cases.
